Pandemic Flu Immunisation

The surgery has now received a very limited supply of Pandemrix Vaccines and will shortly be contacting patients in the highest risk groups to offer them immunisation against 'Swine Flu'

This patient leaflet contains further information about the vaccine

This is the government advice about risk groups

The following groups are priority groups

(a) people who

 (i) have reached the age of 6 months but have not reached the age of 65 year and

(ii) are in a clinical risk group

(b) women who

(i) are pregnant; and

(ii) are at a stage in their pregnancy for which the H1N1 vaccine is licensed for use;

(c) people who are household contacts of immunocompromised individuals

 

 

(d) people who

 (i) are aged 65 or over; and

(ii) are in a clinical risk group

 

 

 

 

Clinical Risk Groups

People with chronic respiratory disease

People with chronic heart disease

People with chronic renal disease

People with chronic liver disease

People with chronic neurological disease

People with diabetes

People with asthma that requires continuous or repeated use of inhaled or systemic steroids or with previous exacerbations requiring hospital admission

People who are immunosuppressed
